Measuring Tips

To make things a little easier, we have provided these short videos for you to watch before you measure your windows or doors for fly screen fittings.

Window and Door flyscreens

1. Measure the aperture (the opening) width & height.

2. Measure the frame space available at the sides and top.

3. Add a minimum of 10mm on to the width and 5mm to the height (this allows 5mm overlap each side). Always ensure you have 25mm of space each side to fit the hinges & catch. If you have more frame available increase the overlap.

Strip Curtains

1. Measure the aperture (the opening) width & height.

2. Measure the frame space available at the sides and top.

3. Add a minimum of 10mm to the width and 35mm to the height. This allows 5mm overlap at the sides and enough room for the holder at the top and a gap at the bottom to allow the strips to swing without making contact with the floor.

Chain Link Door Screen

The Chain Link door screen has an Aluminium Header Rail supplied with Two Face Fixing Brackets as standard. Please allow 50mm for fitting of header rail at the top of door and it is recommended that the Chain Link is at least 25mm above the floor level.

1. Measure the aperture (the opening) width and height.

2. Measure the frame space available at the sides and top.

3. Add minimum of 30-50mm to the width and 35mm to the height. This allows an overlap at the sides and enough room for the holder at the top and a gap at the bottom to prevent the Chain Links making contact with the floor. All finished manufacturing sizes include the aluminium Header Rail.
